Solo Travel
I hope you read this and find that confidence that is hiding deep within, to get up and finally book that flight. Dont wait around for other people when its your dream. If you feel like now is the time for you to go and Explore Gaia, then it probably is, but it just might not be theirs.
Mindset
I think solo travel is really beneficial for anyone. Alone time really allows you to get to know yourself and I think you need to fully understand yourself to really be successful and happy. You are forced to push yourself out of your comfort zone, start conversations with new people, eat out alone, take photos by yourself with a tripod, and probably many more. All little things but they take some balls sometimes, its easy to let yourself get in your head and make you think about all the things that could go wrong instead of thinking about all the things that could go right.
Challenge
Grab a pen and paper
Set a timer for 2 minuets
Write down every thought that comes in your mind in those 2 minuets
After, go through them all and label them negative and positive thoughts
I bet over 60% of them are negative
A big part in your spiritual awakening is being able to look within and do your shadow work. shadow work is, looking at all parts of you within, understanding them, working on them and accepting the ones that you cannot change.
"Beneath the social mask we wear every day, we have a hidden shadow side: an impulsive, wounded, sad, or isolated part that we generally try to ignore. The Shadow can be a source of emotional richness and vitality, and acknowledging it can be a pathway to healing and an authentic life". - Steve Wolf
You naturally think negatively about things, even little things, Most people do it, it's hard not too. You just need to retrain your brain into a new way of thinking changing them negative thoughts into positive thoughts, acknowledging them and questioning them, then changing them. Theres different ways you can do this but the way I found the most affective is one that I have learnt from an amazing book I have read:

" RICH DAD, POOR DAD - Robert Kiyosaki "

In this book he says the words " I cant " limit you, they stop the wheels in your brain from turning and they come to a halt. Most people will say " I can't " before they've even attempted it and deep down they know it's not true but slowly they'll begin to believe it. Words are very powerful chose them carefully because they have a very big impact on your life. You need to keep a positive attitude don't let little things out of your control get to you (yes, I know easier said than done but persevere because its possible it just takes repetition). This is not an overnight change.
So after you've acknowledged the fact that you have said the dreaded words "I cant" you can question why? Asking questions gets your brain moving again, the clogs start to turn. You are already thinking of what you could do next to help yourself, not moping in your own self pity.

3 good questions to remember are...
-
Is there any evidence to support this thought?
-
Is there any evidence against this thought?
-
What would I say to my friend if they were saying this about themselves?
I feel like this is an important fact to keep in mind when travelling and having to push yourself
You're probably sat there thinking what the hell does this have to do with solo travel? Well travelling for allot of people changes you, the way you think and view things it opens your eyes to what's really happening in the world. For some that can be really beneficial but for some that can make them feel worse. Seeing that not everywhere is sunshine and rainbows instead of just hearing it is very different. When you see the problem it really does become real, when you hear it you can brush it off, you're aware but it's at the back of your mind because it's not effecting you.
Don't get me wrong I think for most people it helps, staying closed off to the world isn't healthy for anyone, we all live on the same planet, we are all one. However, some just need that little push. You'd be surprised how many people aren't woke to their thought patterns and traumas. knowing this can help you identify some of your bad habits that's holding you back from becoming better, meting new people and raising your vibrations.
